My commitment to healing justice is at the heart of everything I do.
I believe yoga is not only a path toward personal peace but also a practice of collective liberation — a way to remember that healing the self is inseparable from healing our communities and the world around us.
For me, connecting yoga to justice means creating spaces where people can breathe, grieve, rest, and rise together — where care itself becomes an act of resistance.
Workshops and Awards
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of curating and offering workshops that bring spiritual practice into conversation with social movements.
For examples, see below.
My work as a healing justice practitioner has been recognized through the following honors that affirm my belief in the power of art, movement, and mindfulness to nurture transformation:
2013 Art and Social Change Grant
2017 Transformation Award from Philadelphia’s Leeway Foundation
Workshops
The following are examples of past curated workshops combining spiritual practice with social justice:
“Yogini Sistahs for Liberation”
“Meditations with Malcolm”
A series I offered to student organizers at the Philadelphia Student Union
“Free Mumia, Free Your Mind, Free ’Em All”
A yoga fundraiser series
Running Down the Walls 5K events
Yoga in the service of freedom, raising funds for political prisoners
Each of these experiences has deepened my understanding of how embodied practice can support movements for justice and collective care.
